Late 80’s – Early 90s… I was in the game, but I wasn’t winning.

I’d buy wrong, present it wrong, and sell it wrong. Every deal felt like I was just a little behind—and the truth is, I was.

Then my wife joined the Air Force. Looking back, I think she got tired of watching me lose on every deal.

Our first duty station was RAF Chicksands—new country, new chapter. My wife and I were excited!

So what did I do?

I went out and bought another car. This time from a credit union manager. Thought I had it lined up. But in England, cars have to pass inspection—and I didn’t understand the system.

Not long after, the steering rack went out. I didn’t even know what a steering rack was.

Same story.

Same frustration.

Same losses.

But this time, something different happened…

I picked up the base newspaper and saw a small ad for a guy renting cars. I figured maybe he could help me get through the mess.

That decision changed my life.

That’s when I met Steve Meadows.
